Why am I not improving

Guitar lessons: https://guitarzoid.com There are many reasons why beginner guitarists do not progress and it usually comes down to a few specific problems that are easily identified. Ask yourself these questions, are you: 1. Using a metronome? 2. Practicing slowly and accurately at all times? 3. Are you running scales? What about chords? Picking exercises maybe? 4. Are you learning new songs that interest you? 5. Are you practicing whilst watching tv? Or are you focused on what you are doing? (spoiler alert: passively practicing is a waste of time) 6. After all of this, are you expecting to see improvements after a few days, weeks, months, or years? For beginner guitarists, improvement is not a straight line. You may find that it will take weeks of solid practice to do just the basics and then consistent practice after that will see you improve at lightning speeds. Trust me on this, you will struggle for a time and then wake up one day and all of a sudden you can do things you never thought possible. For non-beginner guitarists, also understand that you will plateau at certain points in your playing life. I would suggest doing something you have never done before and maybe even something you have always considered too hard to play. Like Polyphia, Animals As Leaders, Steve Vai, or Eric Johnson. Remember, playing guitar is just like body-building: at a certain level, after a certain time, your muscles get bored. You have to change it up.
