Medical Booked: Liverpool agree to sign player rejected by Tottenham

Liverpool have agreed to sign Newcastle United wonderkid Bobby Clark after he was rejected by Tottenham, Football Insider understands. This site revealed on 8 May that Spurs had knocked back the 16-year-old midfielder after being offered him by intermediaries ahead of the summer. A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that Clark has arrived at the club to undergo a medical and put pen to paper on a contract. The England youth international is set to link up with the Merseysiders’ Under-18s when the deal is finalised. Liverpool regard it as a coup to have landed the son of Lee Clark. But, intriguingly, the Spurs academy coach Paul Bracewell advised his club not to sign Clark after running the rule over him earlier this year. North-east based Bracewell watched the teenager in action over an extended period before coming to the conclusion.
