The MT-32 version is how the tracks were originally composed, while FM is a revised version for lower-grade soundcards with less channels and instrument selection. But due to a programming error in the game's .M music format, the notation of every single song of every music version in the final game has been lowered by 2 semitones. The FM version (having been made from the original MT-32 versions, and being unable to be altered) has retained this 2 semitone lowering for the soundtrack, while all of the MT-32 versions play at their original tone as composed even though they would be lowered by two semitones in the final game. FM version recorded using an authentic "Sound Blaster 16 - CT2230 Rev. 049432" equipped with a real OPL3. Selected soundcard option in game was "Sound Blaster".
