Chuda ghasa is a traditional sweet delicacy of Odisha,which is mostly prepared during Ganesh Chaturthi and Saraswati Puja, in which chuda or flattened rice is coarsely grounded & mixed with jaggery, desi ghee, fresh pounded black pepper, grated coconut & some fresh fruits.. The word ‘Chuda' means flattened rice & ‘ghasa' means to rub..It means, the mixture is rubbed with palm & fingers for a long time so that the flavours are well infused into the mixture resulting in delicious Chuda ghasa, which is offered as prasad to God.
