When the UH-1H Iroquois helicopters, nicknamed "Huey," were introduced to the world in the Vietnam conflict, it was unimaginable that they would forever change the modern concept of warfare. Immortalized by cinema and television in countless adventures, it is considered the most important American helicopter of all time. Due to their intensive use and brilliant performance, the Huey became the "cavalry" and the rescue squadrons in many of the major contemporary conflicts. Besides the United States, it is still operated in countries such as New Zealand, Colombia, Bolivia, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Spain, Chile, and also in Brazil. First introduced into military service in 1955, it went into production in 1962 as the UH-1. The Huey was the protagonist of legendary attack missions, escort duties, airborne assaults, and combat rescues. The last units were manufactured in 1976, with a total of 16,000 units produced, of which approximately 7,000 participated in the Vietnam War.
