The MacMaster takes a trip to Booths Supermarket in Ulverston a chain of high-end supermarkets in Northern England. It has been described as the "Waitrose of the North" by sources such as The Daily Telegraph. Booths Cafe is renowned for their quality and the produce it serves along with their famous coffee. Their Big Breakfast is apparently the best Full English Breakfast that you will find in a supermarket. Here's my review of Booths Supermarket Cafe Full English Breakfast. Yet another overpriced posh cafe restaurant taking our hard earned money off us and serving us complete and utter godawful food. Booths you should be ashamed of yourself. @racingspoonمنذ 2 سنوات Agree about the toast placement trick. Remember when greasy spoons used to split the sausage and put them in the beans so it looked like 2 snags when was id="hidden1" class="buttons"> only the one. Do agree as well that quality and service seems to have taken a nose dive over last couple of years. I get a pandemic causes issues but can’t help but feel it’s a bit of an excuse trotted out to cover cost cutting and general can’t be arsed attitudes in lots of places. ....وسعت 7

@paulh6213منذ 2 سنوات Booths are certainly not like Morrisons. They are a premium food seller in the north of England (mainly west coast of Lancashire around Preston and upto id="hidden2" class="buttons"> the Lakes). Never had a breakfast, but the food they sell on the shelves and delicatessen would rival M&S ....وسعت 27

@paulmortal7611منذ 2 سنوات Cheap on paper but not difficult to turn out. I went to a trendy place called the Butterfly Cabinet yesterday and paid twice the price. But got 2 bacon, id="hidden3" class="buttons"> 2 poached eggs, 2 sausage, 2 black pudding, 2 white pudding, 2 hash browns, beans, shrooms, potato scones, grilled tomato and fried bread. Oh and HP from a bottle. £10. Didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day. ....وسعت 11

@johnkitchen4699منذ 2 سنوات Marking seemed a bit harsh, but you tasted it all. I agree about the plate fillers. I’m not overly keen on eggs with brown on the bottom - apparently the brown (burnt!) bit round the bottom edge lingers in the stomach for 3-4 days as it’s virtually indigestible (as are tomato skins).
Products on the plate all looked as though they might be good but we’re badly cooked.

@Benj901منذ 2 سنوات Didn't look that horrendous from the initial clip, but of course you're tasting it. Great vid mate, but Booths I think are a lot more up market id="hidden5" class="buttons"> than Morrisons! More on the M&S / Waitrose level.

@MrLees-oq8wbمنذ 2 سنوات Booths were originally tea merchants
At the one in Penwortham they used to do a full English breakfast that was absolutely top class. It was very id="hidden6" class="buttons"> popular with locals and builders and kept them busy so they took it off the menu.
It was a lot better than crap dished up.
Get yourself to the sweet counter and get an Eaton tidy it's the best thing booths make.

  • @
@derekmills1080منذ 2 سنوات You had bad luck. But I agree that luck should NOT play a part in it.
I've had some excellent breakfasts at Booths (Fulwood, Garstang, Knutsford id="hidden15" class="buttons"> and Milnthorpe). The odd time there has been a lowering of standards, they are happy to help. Convid has meant that (as you experienced here) young staff with little experience are thrown in at the deep end when more experienced ones have to isolate at a moment's notice.
Because you review meals, quite rightly, you don't send them back. The paradox is, if you were just having breakfast without reviewing, you would return the offending item and get a fresh one.

@TheFilwudمنذ 2 سنوات The tomato conundrum- canned or not? Well I just do not like cooked tomatoes, so neither for me. A Booths in the Lake District, the sausage should be Cumberland, id="hidden26" class="buttons"> that looked very generic. The egg looked old, the mushroom was a small paddling pool, nothing looked good. I think maybe half marks- 5 out of 10 because I thought at first glance it looked okay, apart from being a bit fatty the bacon looked reasonable and not cooked to death, the sausage may not have been Cumberland but it looked reasonable meaty. Yes it was small but the price wasn't silly. I don't understand why cooking one sausage is more covid-safe than cooking two! There is no logic there at all. ....وسعت 7
