The reason Mike hates him was not only because of neglects ( btw William didn't abuse Mike physically ), it was also because on how he treated Mike's siblings. You might be thinking that William actually loves Evan and Liz from the start? *nope* he hates the idea of even having kids, He does *care* for his kids (including Mike ) a little bit, but not entirely I mean, they are his own blood and flesh right?
