Amazon to pay billions to avoid Christmas shortages | US News | NewsRme To deal with labor shortages and supply chain difficulties before Christmas, Amazon has pledged billions. The online retailer claimed it was doing everything possible to help customers and sellers. Apple said a processor shortage cost them $6bn in lost revenue. Chief executive Tim Cook admitted the tech giant's issues would continue throughout the holidays. However, sales grew only 29% to $83.4 billion, missing expectations. To $20.5bn from $12.6bn Mr Cook stated that in the three months leading up to September 25, the company had larger-than-expected supply restrictions and that the chip shortfall now affected most of our goods. Amazon stated that managing its own shortages would cost a lot of money. As a result of labour supply difficulties, increasing pay expenses, global supply chain difficulties, and increased freight and delivery costs. While it may be costly in the near term, it is the right choice for our consumers and partners.
