RECOVERING FROM SKIN CANCER SURGERY - no sweating allowed

TW: mildly graphic stitches removal + wound footage – This week’s video is a little different from most, as this week was much different from any week we’ve ever had. The dermatologist identified basal cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer, in a small bump on Jenna’s face last month. She scheduled a Mohs Surgery for last Tuesday and had stitches put in on Wednesday morning. Not shown in this video: 99% of the tears and hardship of the last few weeks/month, but we knew we wanted to document at least a little bit of what went on. We as triathletes (and California-raised swimmers) have spent and continue to spend so much time in the sunshine, so we felt like our fellow outdoor athletes should know this story too. Our PSA: Wear your SPF 100+ sunscreen (mineral ideally), slap on a hat and sunglasses, and go to the dermatologist to get your skin checked regularly.
