Determinism Before the start of each event, such as a double pendulum about to fall, a glass about to shatter, or a football about to be kicked, matter, energy and time all align create the reality of the event. About chaos theory: Chaos, in mathematics and physics, is when a system is especially sensitive to initial conditions, where even the slightest variations in the beginning create huge deviations in the long run, making chaotic systems (such as the weather) very difficult, even impossible to predict far into the future. One would need to know all the initial position of each possible variable in the system to have a precise prediction. "The approximate present does not approximately predict the future." However, chaotic systems also have a tendency to form dense periodic orbits, where results overtime show similar patterns (yet being unpredictable as to how similar to each other). Chaotic systems have been found in sociological and biologic systems, alluding to the possibility that even life follows the whims of chaos to create what we see as order, and that the exact present could only have been possible by exact past conditions.
