Shopping experience at Burma Bazaar electronics market near Parry's corner in Chennai, a grey market known for cheap electronics and good food. Burma Bazaar is a market run by Burmese refugees in Chennai, India. It is located at Parrys Corner and is one of the several unorganized or grey market shopping hubs of Chennai. The bazaar was set up in 1969 by the Government of Tamil Nadu. It is located just outside the Chennai Beach railway station, in the old financial district of the city at George Town. It is a row of about 200 shops that line either side of the road for about a kilometre. I went there on an 'Uber moto' bike taxi from Greams road. The market is just opposite Parry's corner market, on NSC Bose road. I went there in search of some cheap electronics goods for regular use. I bought a pair of airpods ( identical to the apple airpods for the iphone ) bluetooth headphones for only 450 Indian rupees. The headphones although not original but only a copy had good build and excellent sound quality. The market mainly had mobile phone shops selling phones at a very cheap price, with some of them being stolen goods refurbished. there were also shops selling mobile covers, household electronics, tv, speakers, clothing, chocolates, and pirated DVDs. It was very hot and so I went in a fruit juice shop and had orange juice. They serve the juice of an orange for 40 rupees and it amounts to two glasses. Then it was time for lunch. I wanted to have Atho at Burma bazaar but unfortunately it was not available before evening, so I went and had a veg biryani from a street food stall for only 30 rupees. The food was very good for the price. Then I went back to Parry's corner to get a cab back to my hotel.
