Union Pacific Los Angeles Limited at River City

Union Pacific's Los Angeles Limited running on the River City Modeler's layout in Spokane. The headend power is an Athearn Genesis FEF-2 4-8-4 #825. The rolling stock is Walthers passenger cars bearing the Pullman and Union Pacific name. The consist depicts the train between 1941 and 1945 respectively when it was still an all-Pullman train. In addition, the equipment predates the 1946 break up of the Pullman company by the federal government. This was due to violations of the Sherman and Clayton anti-trust laws. The consist depicts the location between Cheyenne and Salt Lake respectively. When the train arrived in Salt Lake City, it would carry on an additional Pullman 12-1 sleeper from the Butte Special. In addition, the train would change headend power with an ALCO MT-73 4-8-2 as the Northern's were not allowed to traverse further west as for the fact of being coal burners. This would, however, change in 1946 when they were converted to oil burning in response to the coal strikes that broke out across the nation.
