Top banana! Well chuffed with this. I did 4 minutes just before this and was really content with that, but I didn't press record on the Iphone, so I tried again and managed an extra 30 seconds on top of that. Everything happens for a reason I guess. During this period when we can't get into the ocean, we must keep practicing and be prepared for when we are reunited with our wet world. Freediving is an extremely useful skill to have i on an equal playing field as the seals and dolphins themselves. We believe freediving is a very applicable skill and one worth developing if you want to spend any amount of time in the water as a field biologist for collecting data and observing the underwater world or just experiencing and observing nature in the least intrusive way possible and as peacefully as possible. It is a skill which takes lots of practice and both mental and physical fitness. It builds mental toughness and as personal challenge as it gets. Its just you and one big breath. During the Cape RADD marine biology field course we dedicate a number of modules to introducing, learning and developing this skill both on land (practicing the techniques) and in the water on fish ID surveys. To give our students a taste as to this fantastic skill, and after the course our students increase their breath hold massively using the skills and techniques taught to them, its very satisfying to see this development in such a short period of time. Check it out www.caperadd.com https://www.caperadd.com/courses/field-course/ Filmed on Iphone 5 (yes I know its 2020..but...) Filmed in the Cape RADD H.Q, Simons Town during Lock down 24/04/2020
