Cuerda Seca Decorative Handmade Tiles by Fireclay Tile

Immerse yourself in Old World designs that stand the test of time. Available in three rich, vibrant colorways. Cuerda Seca is an ancient technique of hand-painting ceramic tile. We make our Cuerda Seca handpainted tiles in our Aromas, California factory using either our durable Recycled Clay as the base. When an order is placed, bisque tile (clay tile that has been fired once to create a hard, durable body) is screen-pressed with the chosen Cuerda Seca patterns. Custom options are available. After the pattern is screened onto the clay body, the glaze colors are then applied. Upon completion of the painting, the tiles are kiln-fired overnight, packed, and ready to be shipped. Our Cuerda Seca designs can be customized to your choice of colorway and we can do custom patterns as well. We can do small residential or very large commercial projects.
