STORY OF GURU JI : There is no systematic recorded history about Guru ji so there have been some contradictions but there has been a common understanding that he was from Kyoto. He had a deep desire to give some healing technique for so many people suffering from physical and mental health problems. After spending many years in search of "touch healing technique", as practiced by Jesus Christ or Gautam Budha as per scriptures, he could not get what he was looking for. Then one day, there was some kind of inner guidance received by him during his meditation session advising him to fast without water and meditate for 21 days in a isolated place for fulfillment of his noble wish. He went on top of a holy hill called Mount Korama Yama located about 20 km from Kyoto. On last day he received Divine blessings and empowerment to heal. He spent his rest of life empowering people to practice this great healing art. He passed away in 1926 and didnot leave behind any organisation to promote Reiki in society. But more and more people are learning Reiki world over because of its merit. There is no publicity or no large funds employed or no such organisations still this great healing art Reiki is being practiced in most of the countries.
