In this video, you’ll know what my favorite books from the year of 2017 were, and why I liked each one. Books mentioned: * Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell * Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead by Brené Brown “The important thing to notice about worthiness is that it doesn't have prerequisites. Most of us, on the other hand, have a long list of worthiness prerequisites- qualifiers that we've inherited, learned, and unknowingly picked up along the way. Most of these fall in the categories of accomplishments, acquisitions, and external acceptance. It's the if/when problem (I'll be worthy when...) or (I'll be worthy if...). They may not be written down and we may not even be aware of the prerequisites, but we all have a list that says, "I'll be worthy...." *When I lose this weight *If I get accepted into this school *If my wife's not cheating *If we don't get divorced  *If I get promoted  *When I get pregnant  *When he asks me out *When we buy a house in this neighborhood  *If no one finds out Shame loves prerequisites. Our if/when worthiness list easily doubles as the gremlins's to do list." * ثاني لفة يمين by د.أمجد الجنباز * Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown  " Once you become an Essentialist, you will find that you aren't like everybody else. When other people are saying yes, you will find yourself saying no. When other people are doing, you will find yourself thinking. When other people are speaking, you will find yourself listening. When other people are in the spotlight, vying for attention, you will find yourself waiting on the sidelines until it is time to shine. While other people are padding their resumes and building out their LinkedIn profiles, you will be building a career of meaning. While other people are complaining about how busy they are, you will be just smiling sympathetically, unable to relate. While other people are living a life of stress and chaos, you will be living a life of impact and fulfillment.  In many ways, to live as an Essentialist in our too-many-things-all-the-time society is an act of quiet revolution." * The One Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results by Gary Keller, Jay Papasan " When life happens, you can be either the author of your life or the victim of it. Those are your only two choices - accountable or unaccountable. This may sound harsh, but it's true. Every day we choose one approach or the other, and the consequences follow us forever." Gary Keller The book that changed my life: * The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle The part that changed my life from the book: “Are you a habitual waiter? How much of your life do you spend waiting? Are you waiting to start living? Stress is caused by being “here” but wanting to be “there”, or being in the present but wanting to be in the future. It’s a split that tears you apart inside. The fact that everyone else is doing it doesn’t make it any less insane. It is not uncommon for people to spend whole life waiting to start living. Waiting is a state of mind. You don’t want what you’ve got, and you want what you haven’t got. With every kind of waiting, you unconsciously create inner conflict between your here and now, where you don’t want to be, and the projected future, where you want to be. Life is primary. Life is your deepest inner being. It is already whole, complete, perfect. Your life situation consists of your circumstances and your experiences…when you honor, acknowledge, and fully accept your present reality – where you are, who you are, what you are doing right now – when you fully accept what you have got, you are grateful for what you have got, grateful for what is, grateful for being. Gratitude for the present moment and the fullness of life now is true prosperity. It cannot come in the future. Then, in time that prosperity manifests for you in various ways. “ If you liked this video, you should subscribe!
