Miami elecits some fond WWE memories for pro wrestling standout Daniel Bryan. Now competing as Bryan Danielson, he's ready to make more Miami moments, but this time with All Elite Wrestling. AEW returns to Miami for two action-packed, back-to-back shows on Oct. 15 and 16 at the James L. Knight Center. That's Friday, Oct. 15 live on TNT for AEW Rampage and Saturday, Oct. 16 live on TNT for a special Saturday edition of AEW Dynamite. There will also be tapings for AEW Dark and AEW Dark:Elevation matches. In my audio interview with Bryan Danielson, he discusses AEW in Miami, his cool moments in Miami with WWE, his passion, the passionate AEW fanbase, the stellar AEW match with Kenny Omega opening the AEW Grand Slam show before 21,000 fans in New York, coffee, Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and more. As Daniel Bryan, he competed in WrestleMania 28 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens. The card also included WWE Champ CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho and Intercontinental Champ Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show. Talk about making lemonade from lemons. Bryan with AJ lee lost his World title in just 18 seconds to Sheamus at WrestleMania 28 Miami. Fans were so upset with the booking of that match, a WrestleMania moment cut short, extremely short. Well, the following night on the super-charged Raw from the AmericanAirlines Arena (which is only 1.5 miles from the James L. Knight Center), fans chanted "Yes" and "Daniel Bryan" throughout the 3-hour show. The Rock returning to WWE for the main event of WrestleMania 28 against John Cena in Miami, Rock's hometown, was a huge match that delivered. That next night on Raw, not even the super popular hometown hero Rock could match the outcry/support for Bryan, who was not evern scheduled for the live TV show. Rock put over Bryan durinhg his promo to the audience at the arena and those watching from home. Bryan worked the dark match, after Raw, a six-man tag, and those in the match gave way to Bryan, giving the crowd what they wanted. Such a cool moment, and the "Yes" movement evolved from there, becoming bigger and bigger, growing into one of the greatest movements in WWE history and catapulting him into WWE main event status. Earlier in his WWE career, Bryan was part of The Nexus, and the young, hungry contingent debuted (without any build-up or fanfare) at that same AmericanAirlines Arena in Maimi for Raw on the USA Network. Nexus surprised everyone at the close of the show by appearing from the crowd and then attacking John Cena and destroying the ring, the set and everyone in their path. Bryan was legit fired for apparently taking things to the extreme, but was later re-hired after an uproar (again) by fans. What a journey for Danielson, who also starred in Ring of Honor prior to WWE. Many top stars in AEW, like Danielson, excelled in ROH, which showcased their in-ring wrestling skill. Now Danielson is creating moments, memories in AEW. His match with AEW Champ Kenny Omega (seconded by Don Callis) highlighted the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam show on TNT in September, before 21,000 loud, proud fans at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing meadows/Queens, New York. A dream main event match-up, AEW opted to open the show with it, and the two standouts delivered one heck of a match to jump-start the action. When AEW returns to Miami in October, this marks his first time wrestling in Miami for a company, other than WWE. Danielson, 40, debuted in 1999. He's wrestled for Evolve, Full Impact Pro, Memphis Championship Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Pro Wrestling NOAH, Ring of Honor, WWE and more. Now he wears AEW on the front of his shirt. Originally from Abeerdeen, Washington, he is a Seattle Seahawks fan, and his favorite player is QB Russell Wilson for how he conducts himself on and off the field. Danielson is married to WWE alum Brie Bella of the Bella Twins, and they have two children. (Photo Courtesy AEW)
