The Russian Aerospace Forces launched the Soyuz-2.1b with a military satellite from the Plesetsk cosmodrome by spacecraft.
All pre-launch and launch operations of Soyuz-2.1b took place as usual with ground-based automated control systems monitoring the launch.
Soyuz-2.1b is designed on the basis of the Russian intercontinental ballistic missile and it is one of the modifications of the Soyuz-2 series, which was developed on the basis of the most popular rocket of the Soyuz-U family.
