Bringing a heartfelt and true story to life on video with my former colleague and ex AM engineering director Bill Bannard was a privilege and helpful when selling this rarity to a true enthusiast. In his early teens during the 60’s, our buyer used to cycle to the Newport Pagnell factory from where he lived and peer through the fences, to see what cars were lying around in the various compounds. Some 50 years later he could afford to add to his collection, this very special and unique experimental V8 engined DB5. On occasions like this, it just feels extremely satisfying, to bring together the right new owner, for a significant piece of Aston Martin’s engineering history. Sold by Nicholas Mee & Co in 2022.
