"It is fitting that these classic American characters and the actors who portrayed them will be honored on U.S. postage stamps." He said the Classic Movie Monsters stamps are part of the Postal Service's commitment to reinvigorate stamp collecting among the youth of America. Universal Studios produced the Phantom of the Opera in 1925, Dracula and Frankenstein in 1931, the Mummy in 1932 and the Wolf Man in 1941. The program also featured hundreds of school children in their Halloween costumes. Universal classic Monsters continued with talkies including core monsters in the franchise Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man and Creature from the Black Lagoon.
