In this video I cover the different types of Stock Market Events. We should always aim to buy during a sale. As Warren Buffett says “Be fearful when others and greedy, and greedy when others are fearful”. Stock prices move because of demand to buy and sell stocks. If more people are selling stocks than buying them then the price is forced down. As small investors we need to be patient and wait for the opportunity to get stocks at our margin of safety price. There are different types of events which cause fear in the market and I take a look at company specific, industry specific, and macroeconomic events. I give practical examples from the Chipotle Mexican Grill E. coli outbreak in 2015, the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster in 2010, and the start of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. These are all events which cause panic in the market and scare investors to sell their stocks. This then presents an excellent opportunity to invest as the market price drops, as long as we are prepared and fully understand the company. We need to be certain the company or industry can recover back to how it was previously within 3 years to make the investment.
