@leopardgeckotalk4 years ago Forgot to mention that though I do say in the video that males may display similar behaviours, just slightly less intense, I have also noticed that Diego will randomly do mating displays, where he'll wag the tip of his tail super quick, sounds like a mini propeller! He'll mostly do this randomly at night, but he has been known to do it in the middle of the day. ... 67

@AllSparklesThatLove4 years ago THANK YOU for this video!! My female (13 years old!) has gone off food every November-January, whenever the weather cools. She's never laid an egg, but sheds a lot and loses a little weight (still a chunky gal). Even if this happens every year, I get so stressed when she stops eating. Nice to have this video as a reference(: ... 13

@PMSM3x1burrit04 years ago I feel relief to see that Leo’s typically act this way during this season. I was so worried because my girl has always been a good eater, and didn’t glass surf as much as she’s been doing lately and is less interested in hunting her crickets. She will be a year old in May or June. It seems like the only way to calm her is when I put my hand in for her to climb on me a bit then she hops off when she’s done with me and tends to relax more. Thank you for helping me be less of a hover copter reptile mommy. ... 5

@starbyray78284 years ago My Leo's, Male and Female scratch the glass to tell me they want to come out. At the moment its been every evening and even during the day for a week lol. The are both in the mood for LURVE! I thought it had peaked. My Female slept a whole day and evening, My male was still on the lookout, very upset not to see her climbing on me. But last night She had recovered her energy and was intent on getting to the ledge in front of his viv and making "slinky moves" in front of his window. LOL My female Crestie has also been making googoo eyes at my male Leo. She can see him from her Viv. She climbed down and was rubbing her head on the glass and He was too. They are all more mature this year so the behaviour is more noticeable and more prolonged. ... 42

@2yearoldeastercandy9354 years ago I’ve never kept a leopard gecko, but Ive heard somewhere that it could also mean that they’re trying to get out because their cage is too small. I know that you take amazing care of your leos and give them awesome enclosures, but some people don’t. If a leos is too young to ovulate but scratching the glass, I’d advise a bigger enclosure or more time outside of the cage ... 22

@Boothesupreme4 years ago What a coincidence you posted this because my gecko has been doing this. I adopted her in October and shes about 7 years old. @lk45433 years ago so I was feeding my 2 month old leopard g and I only got her 3 days ago. We are still bonding. she eats like a sumo wrestler. I have to cut the mealworms in half for her , she went to eat one, it was a bit gooey and she made a disgusted look when it touched her face and she started to rub her head on EVERYTHING and just went round rubbing the left side of her face, and madly licking her left cheek. Obv being a new owner I find myself worrying that something's wrong as it's been a couple hours and occasionally she still rubs left side of her face on the floor/earth. help 💓 ... 1

@beautyfrompainxxx3 years ago My male gecko has been acting strange lately. He makes lots of noise at night, has lost a lot of weight, and now keeps his eyes shut at all times. He won’t eat and acts as if he can’t see his food. He had a bit of shed stuck in one eye but I got it out. He tends to shed a lot now too. I’ve had him since he was a baby, so about 3 or 4 years now. I take care of him and feed him regularly. I don’t know what happened. The only thing I could think of is that one of his lights was off for two weeks while I was away🤦🏻‍♂️, and had someone taking care of him who doesn’t know a whole lot about lizards. He has a heating pad and night light along with his heat light. ...

Aside from scratching on the glass and trying to surf a bit my female Luna often gets on her tree bark and jumps against the glass :( I'm very worried and I literally checked everything to be alright in her space. The only thing that's not optimal right now, is that she's on sand... And yes, I know of the danger of impaction and I already ordered some claypowder to mix it with sand and water for a safe landscape (unbeatable if you also care for asthetics). But the sand can't be the problem by itself, can it? ...

@alexroberts66404 years ago Back in the beginning of February I got my leopard gecko (I’m guessing her at around 3-4 months old, birth date unknown). She has been fed mealworms her entire life so far (although appropriately dusted, I know that’s still not the best), but I’ve just now started to try and introduce her to dubias. The night before last was the first time she had ever seen one (as far as I know). I put one in her enclosure at a time to see how she would react and with the first one, she attacked it and bit it but immediately spit it out. At this point, that dubia was crippled and not moving much so she was entirely uninterested but then I put another in and she ate in no problem. After that, she wouldn’t eat anymore. Last night I tried giving her dubias again but she was completely uninterested and didn’t even seem to pay any attention to the 4 sitting around her. Granted, I put her in a separate container for feeding because the dubias were getting under her repti carpet and getting stuck so maybe that freaked her out. A couple of them managed to crawl onto her stomach and up onto her back and I think that probably spooked her as well, but I’m not sure if she’s just not a fan or if she is just gonna take some time to get used to eating something different? I put her in a separate container to feed again tonight and she wouldn’t eat. Once I put her back in her enclosure and put the dubias in there, she ate two no problem but wouldn’t eat anymore after that. In addition to all my efforts, I’ve been trying to teach her how to eat out of a dish rather than me putting insects in her enclosure (at least until I buy a different substrate, may resort to tile or cabinet liner). She hasn’t gotten the hang of that just yet either, so I’m not sure if I’m changing things too abruptly and she’s stressed out, or if she just needs more time to get used to things being different. She acts perfectly fine any other time, just a little weird (and by weird I mean clueless) during feeding time. Any tips? ...

@anniewansom38614 years ago Thank you so much for posting about egg laying from non-breeding geckos! There is still not much information online about this. I picked up my very first leopard gecko less than two weeks ago, and last night she laid one egg. I have seen that sometimes they lay one, but more often it is two. If there are two eggs, do they lay them both on the same day? Should I expect another one soon? Should I expect multiple clutches per season? I will check her belly tonight to see if I can see another egg in there after she becomes active. Thank you! ...
