THE SUCCESS STORY OF JACK MA

Jack Ma, born on 10th September 1964, is a self-made billionaire and a co-founder of Alibaba, an e-commerce company. A man whose vision has changed the face of business and internet in China. Jack Ma shared how he failed college entrance exam twice before he was admitted into Hangzhou Normal University (formerly known as Hangzhou Teachers' Institute). The entrance exam which was held annually took him three years to pass. He also applied to Harvard University and was rejected ten times. Jack, after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in English, worked as an English lecturer at Hangzhou Dianzi University. After his Bachelor’s degree, Jack Ma tried and failed to get a job after applying for thirty different jobs. When KFC came to China 24 people went for the job, but twenty-three people were considered. He was the only guy rejected. Ma was one of the five applicants applied to the Police Force and was the only one rejected. They told him, “No, you’re no good.” Jack Ma visited US in early 1995 on behalf of the municipal government with colleagues who had introduced him to the internet. Shortly thereafter, he realized that the internet had something great to offer. Jack Ma persuaded 17 of his friends to invest in Alibaba, the e-commerce giant. Initially, Alibaba didn’t had a single penny in investment from outside investors (apart from the co-founders), but they later raised $25 million from SoftBank and Goldman Sachs between 1999 and 2000. Jack Ma is one of the world's most powerful people and is the global brand ambassador for Chinese business. With a net worth of $48.9 billion, Jack Ma is the third wealthiest person in China as of June 2021 after Zhomg Shanghai and Ma Huateng.
