When the orchestra played this one during the Nier Gestalt segment, I remembered how beautifully perfect this melody was. I loved the way the chords change during the chorus and realized it paved the way to some of my favorite moments in Nier: Automata, including this version of the song! This week I spent a bit more time on the mixing and found I really liked riding the rhythm guitars up a bit more than I have in the past. I've had some feedback saying that my mixing has tended to be a bit crushed in dynamics and I have a feeling that it's because of how close the lead guitars and rhythm guitars clash, not to mention when I ride the rhythm guitars this loud, people tend to complain that the leads can't breathe through it... but man does that intro sound good with the rhythms that hot. I think this time around I decided to just go for what sounded awesome to me and while I'm still always making strides with my production, I'm very proud of how far it's all come. I recently bought Spitfire orchestra strings and this is the first cover I used them in! you can hear Albion ONE during most of the song so I hope you like it as it'll probably be what I use for orchestra strings from now on!
