Watch to learn more about reproductive health advocate Asia Brown, C'2023: "Coming into Spelman I was a shy, insecure girl from a small town in Mississippi who had not realized her leadership potential. Having to leave my dream school and move back home because of COVID was incredibly challenging and made me feel like my life and goals were on halt. Despite this, being part of the Spelman community and surrounded by amazing classmates inspired me to become more involved in my home state. I became a reproductive justice advocate and started volunteering at an abortion clinic weekly and was eventually featured on NBC News. At the age of 19 I started my nonprofit 601 for Period Equity to provide free menstrual hygiene products to folks across the state. Today I have grown into a service-minded, confident Spelman woman who has accomplished her goals, been accepted into top nursing programs, and grown my nonprofit to receive funding from companies like CVS Health and Always." #SpelmanGrad23
