Quite literally, Emotional Expression: Inspired by feelings after reading the poem "Pipa" from the Tang Dynasty, was inspired by a famous ancient poem, "Pipa", by Juyi Bai from the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Bai was demoted to a remote area by the emperor. Angry and sorrowful, Bai wrote the poem after he met an excellent pipa player, whose music and similar tragic life experience resonated with him. Yuanhou Wu, a contemporary Chinese composer, arranged the piece, lauded as one of the most resplendent in the pipa repertoire. After the prologue, the piece recapitulates the motif in a constrained sadness and then the song takes on another dimension - the release of extreme grief and anger.
