Today I am going to share with you all a very special, tasty , healthy and delicious Til Gur Ke Meethe Chawal – Jaggery Rice.
Jaggery is especially used during Makar Sankranti for making a dessert called tilgul.
Meethe Chawal which literally translastes as Sweet Rice i.e . Gur (jaggery) Chawal (Rice) is very simple recipe which can be served as a snack or as a dessert. It is very easy and quick to make and really enjoyed by all class of people specially by kids.
INGREDIENTS :
- 1 Bowl Boiled rice,
- 200 Gms. Jaggery,
- ¼ cup Clarified Butter,
- 4-5 Tbsp of white Sesame seeds,
- Handful of Raisins,
- Handful of Cashew nuts,
- 6-7 Grounded cardamoms,
- Handful of Chopped Almonds,
- ¼ Chopped Coconut,
- Handful of Pistachios,
RECIPE :
- Roast the white sesame seeds in a heated Pan, transfer to a Plate. Roast on medium flames .
- Put 1 Tbsp of Clarified butter and roast all the dry fruits i.e. Cashew nuts, Almonds, Coconuts and Raisins, Once roasted transfer to a plate.
- Put 1 Tbsp of Clarified butter more on Pan. Put jaggery , Keep Stirring till jiggery melts fully.
- Add a little water, stir well.
- Once jiggery melts nicely and starts boiling, add cardamom powder, add all the roasted dry fruits , Mix well.
- Add boiled rice, mix nicely and cook on medium flames till all the water evaporates fully and rice gets thick. Keep Stirring.
Sweet Jaggery rice is cooked well , serve in a pot.
Avery very tasty , healthy and mouthwatering Meethe Chawal are ready.
