Giant Redear Fishing with the Big Bass Dreams Team

Hello everybody, welcome back to the BigBassDreams channel. Today the team meets up on the water and ends up on a colony of big Redear Sunfish on Lake Havasu. Very similar to the popular Bluegill sunfish, they're capable of reaching almost 6lbs in weight and several friends of mine have caught them incidentally over 5lbs while bass fishing on Lake Havasu. They have grown to world record proportions here due to the quagga mussel invasion of the Colorado River which provide an all you can eat buffet for the "Shellcrackers" as they're also known in the south. We are on the hunt and actively seeking out these behemoth sunfish, one of the largest species of the family of panfish. Look for some technical insight, mechanics breakdowns, fish behavior observations and various other learning opportunities as we go down memory lane and pick apart some of the dope fishing I've got to do in my career!
