Discover the real story of Princess Salme, youngest of the 36 children of Sayyid Said bin Sultan Al-Busaid, Sultan of Zanzibar and Oman. She was wrote "Memoirs of an Arabian Princess from Zanzibar". Why did she flee the country? Listen as her story is brought to life on two consecutive Saturdays - the first a visit to the Princess Salme Museum and the second a guided walk around Stone Town. Saturday 14th November 16.00 - 18.00 Guided visit of Princess Salme Museum and viewing of documentary about Princess Salme. This visit is guided by Said El Gheithy, curator of the Princess Salme Museum and serves as an introduction to the Princess Salme walk, which will take place next week. After the visit the documentary will be viewed in the Emerson on Hurumzi Ballroom and guests are invited for sundowners afterwards. A donation of 10,000 Tshs is suggested to support the Princess Salme Museum. Saturday 21st October 16.00 - 18.00 Princess Salme walk, This walk is guided by Said El Gheithy, curator of the Princess Salme Museum and this walk will pass several historical sites significant in the life of Princess Salme; where she lived, where her family lived. A donation of 20,000 Tsh is suggested to support the Princess Salme Museum.
