As far as favorite contestants you know it's Dimash, but from 2018 and 2020 Singer I loved Hua Chenyu...he is pretty special performer in his own right. ... 2

@ecilaeniarol98633 years ago Dimash did not want to sing this song. He knew it was not suitable for his voice. He came in last that week and was very upset. Lin Papa consoled him telling him he has a beautiful face and a wonderful voice, and that it will be fine. ... 4

@MontagueWithnail3 years ago I feel the heavy hand of the production team here, I'm not sure that Dimash would have chosen this song given a completely free hand but he made the most of it and appeared to be having a good time. Other singers also had issues with the production team and you'll find that one leaves prematurely in a couple of weeks.
I was sad when Theresa left, I thought she was a really good performer but we do get to see her again a week or two before the final and I really love that performance, hope you do to. Other singers that I really liked were Tia, Terry Lin, Jason Zhang and Tan Jing and I liked the Lion band as well. The audience always received Sandy Lam well and her performance in the final was good. ... 2

@georgepr59763 years ago Hi H... I'll try to summarize rules as short as possible because they are a little tricky....Performances can be segregated by every three episodes. The fist episode is a qualifier and the second episode is a knockout round. The singer with lower score after the two performances get eliminated. The third episode is a Challenger round. A challenger singer is bring out and the one eliminated in the prior round gets a change to get back for an encore performance. The challenger singer to stay have to place in the top four. If Challenger stay, the one at the bottom gets eliminated. The cycle repeats for the next three episodes. At the end, of twelve episodes, the singer with higher score takes the cake. I have simplify this as simple as possible. There are other little rules in between. Keep the good work. ... 2

@sp729293 years ago I think the biggest problem for Dimash here was the lyrics - considering that his English consisted from a couple of words and he had to learn the lyrics phonetically had to be a killer as there is a lot of fast lyrics. The song is definitely not suited to show off a great voice and usually big "operatic" voices have problems with such fast upbeat songs - considering this I think he did good and him as well as the crowd had fun, but it definitely was his weakest performance at the show. ... 14

@georgepr59763 years ago Hi H....on this particular season, some of the episodes carries a theme selected by the production. This particular episode, some of the singers have to sing something out of their comfort zone, something they will normally not sing. That's why this episode is a really bit weird for some of the singers. The song given to Dimash was Uptown Funk....I guess he did ok under the circumstances, he just decided to have fun with it. ... 1

@Ginger_Cat26043 years ago Imho (I'm not a musician), maybe the problem with "Uptown Funk" was not in Dimash, but that he was not supported well by the arrangement and the backing vocals. Everything sounded lifeless except for him.

@cheachung3 years ago Not gonna lie. This performance gets a huge NOPE from me. It was a huge flop for such a competition - I don't think having fun was what they were aiming at. Can't look at it without cringing, but hey, I have never seen any other bad performance by him since. Besides, we all know he is a stage and vocal God at this point. Thanks for the reaction thought!
