Alexa-powered devices are taking over the world—and also your face, starting with the Echo Frames. They’re part of Amazon’s “Day 1” pilot program for new devices (like the Echo buds, which we also tore down). They’re basically a pair of glasses with Amazon’s digital assistant, Alexa, built in, so you can perform small tasks like making a phone call, setting a reminder, or controlling your smart home devices. If you’re going to have an AI assistant next to your brain, it may as well be repairable, so let’s find out what it’s like to take apart. Alexa, enter Teardown Mode. Editor’s note: if you’re worried that Taylor is frantically looking around in this video because he is about to get jumped by Amazon for performing this teardown, rest easy. He was just filming alone in the office and trying to make sure he was in frame. :) We don't just take apart devices, we also make the worlds best toolkits! https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Tools/Toolkits?utm_source=EchoFramesTD&utm_medium=Description&utm_campaign=YouTube Subscribe to our channel for all our latest teardown and repair videos! /user/ifixityourself Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/ifixit Check us out on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/iFixit
