Batman – Zero Year: Batman Begins (Part 2)

We continue our coverage of the Batman-themed event Zero Year, written by Scott Snyder and with art by Greg Cappullo! In this story, we go back in time to the early, then recently revised days of the New 52, in an event depicting Batman's origins that had come to be remembered in Gotham City as the Zero Year. In this first part, we go over Batman vol. 2 #23, cover date October 2013. Continuing Zero Year: Secret City, Part Three (writing by Snyder, pencils by Capullo, ink by Danny Miki, and colouring by FCO Plascencia), Bruce Wayne struggles to survive the Red Hood Gang's deadly attack. With Alfred's help, it will mean the end of Bruce Wayne, and the beginning of the Bat. Meanwhile, Edward Nigma makes some serious moves against Philip Kane and Wayne Enterprises, while charging forward to his future as the Riddler. After that, we'll cover Batman #24 (cover date December 2013, writing by Snyder and James Tynion IV, pencils by Capullo, ink by Danny Miki, additional art by Rafael Albuquerque, and colouring by FCO Plascencia and Dave McCaig), a super-sized issue featuring Batman's first major activities within Gotham.
