INGRIDIENTS FOR SAMBAR RECIPE-:
½ cup tuvar or arahar dal
1 to 1.5 cups cleaned and chopped vegetables like French beans, pumpkin(kaddu), tomatoes, onions, brinjals, onions, bottle guard etc.
½ tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder(haldi powder)
3-4 glass water to be added later or add as required
½ tsp Sugar
Salt to taste
TADKA/CHAUNK(TAMPERING) FOR SAMBAR-:
2 tsp. oil
1 tsp mustard seeds(rai)
3-4 dry red chillies(sookhi lal mirch)
1 medium size finely chopped onion
10-12 curry leaves
1 tsp. coriander powder
½ tsp red chilli powder
2 to 2.5 tsp sambar powder
¼ cup Tamarind water(imli ka paani)
