Lori Vallow Daybell Trial April 20, 2023: David Warwick, Melanie Gibb's husband takes the stand

David Warwick is one of the last known people to have seen JJ alive. Warwick was at Lori's house in Rexburg to record a podcast. He testifies that Chad and Lori had told him he is "one of them," and is one of the 144,000 chosen by God. Warwick says he didn't believe the teachings that Chad and Lori shared and told them as much. Warwick is LDS and says that if any of this is true that it will come from the prophet of the LDS church, but Chad insisted that it was a side mission separate from that and that it was a calling from the Church of the Firstborn and he had been given authority by John The Beloved. Warwick was in Rexburg attending a Preparing a People event which is not sponsored by the LDS church but does cater to LDS people. Warwick explains that he saw Alex Cox bring JJ home, sleeping on his shoulder, and take him up to bed. JJ was not there in the morning and Lori said that he had one of his episodes and was climbing the cabinets and the fridge and even broke her picture of Jesus Christ, but Warwick could not see any damage to any of these items. Lori told Warwick and Gibb that she had called Alex to pick up JJ and that they never saw him again before they left.
