My new teachable course on realistic portraits https://painting-the-light.teachable.com/p/how-to-paint-a-realistic-portrait-like-the-masters In this video I display the tones I use for almost all my portraits and studies. I mix them on my palette and then place them on a portrait for better understanding. It might surprise many of you the range of these tones used for flesh painting and I hope you will find this video helpful. If so please consider subscribing. You can further support this channel at https://www.patreon.com/paintingthelight where you can find exclusive tutorials, and a library that builds up. For business inquiries and commissions find me at antoniscosm@yahoo.gr Thank you so much, Antonis Kosmadakis

I think color mixing intimidates people more than anything else, so this was an excellent lesson. I'm amazed you can do so much with such a small selection of colors. 2

Another example is this video about how much you are a teacher as a hagiographer but also as a painter. Again, you surprised me positively, well done Antonis, always such difficult decisions and not safe videos, but I should expect such videos from you because you only do them with love!

Very useful instruction! The inclusion of the color squares was a very helpful illustration of what went into the making of the final painting; only a good teacher would think to include a visual touchstone such as those. 1

What a pleasure to watch this - i think it’s quite complicated but you make it look easy. Can you tell me what your palette board is made of - it looks like sheets of paper. Thank you! :) 1
