Watch to see how i decorated my daughters first birthday cake. This unicorn cake seems to be quite popular at the moment so i thought i'd give it a go!
I made it over a week, hence many outfit changes!

Ingredients for 5 tier sponge cake:
24oz Butter
24oz Caster Sugar
24oz Self Raising Flour
12 eggs
- Cream/ beat butter and sugar, mix in eggs and flour. I made this in batches. (5 eggs & 10oz sugar, flour & butter to make 2 layers, then 7 eggs & 14oz sugar, flour & butter to make 3 layers)
Icing:
First batch for in between layers and crumb coat:
750g Icing Sugar
240g Soft Unsalted Butter
40ml Milk
- beat till smooth.
Main coat of icing and decorations:
1.5kg Icing Sugar
320g Soft Unsalted Butter
150ml Milk
- Cover cake, then separate into bowls to mix in colour.
