How to make Shakarkandi Chaat?
Ingredients:
- 2 medium-sized sweet potatoes (shakarkandi)
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 1 small tomato, finely chopped
- 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Lemon juice to taste
- Tamarind chutney (optional)
- Sev (crispy chickpea noodles) for garnish
Instructions:
1. Boil the Sweet Potatoes:
- Wash and peel the sweet potatoes.
- Cut them into small cubes.
- Boil the sweet potato cubes until they are tender but not mushy.
2. Prepare the Chaat Mix:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the boiled sweet potato cubes, chopped onion, tomato, green chili, and coriander leaves.
3. Season the Chaat:

- Gently toss the ingredients until everything is well combined.

6. Assemble the Chaat:
- Transfer the chaat mixture to serving plates.
- Drizzle tamarind chutney on top if you like it tangy.
7. Garnish:
- Sprinkle sev on top for a crunchy texture.
