This place, where you can hear mix of both Korean and Arabic, is the home for Joseph’s family. The family was threatened after their father, the Iraqi police, helped out a Christian friend. After their father fled to Australia, the threat worsened for the rest of the family. So their mother, Yusra, tried to take her three kids to Australia. However, at the Australian airport they were denied entry. As there was nowhere to go, their mother chose what she thought to be the safest country, Korea. Sudden parting and visa problems ripped apart the family. Their father sends some money from Australia by working at a construction site. But to raise three children in Korea, it’s not enough. When the money is delayed, Yusra’s worry just keeps getting bigger. ------------------------------------------------ - My Neighbor, Charles Play List : /watch/0V0r8MzarHaOChxCXBo0ZHR5aL8YV7fMLP=tsil&YC-nFpwsgg5sr ------------------------------------------------ Subscribe KBS World Official YouTube: /kbsworld ------------------------------------------------ KBS World is a TV channel for international audiences provided by KBS, the flagship public service broadcaster in Korea. XxxMuseluverxxXمنذ 8 سنوات Her kids were so rude (I'm referring to when she was trying to teach them proper arabic). I get them in a way because they may feel bored learning, id="hidden12" class="buttons"> but they were very disrespectful to their mom. When they are older they will understand how stupid of them it was to not listen to their mom and they will regret it. I am an immigrant myself and am glad that I never lost pride in my language and culture. Assimilation is difficult and easy at the same time; Korea is a homogenous society, but I feel that, as an immigrant, it's very important to still retain your culture in a land of homogeneity. I hope they improve in that aspect and take her lessons seriously. The moments you have with your family, especially mom, are short and fleeting. Treasure them while you can :) ....وسعت 265

Human Beingمنذ 7 سنوات I was crying and smiling with her because she reminds me on my mother. my mother also studied back home but when we moved to Germany she was focused on id="hidden13" class="buttons"> our education and did all the jobs she could. I remember her crying and saying that she tried to do everything she can to become an independent and educated woman and ended up cleaning apartments. since then my goal was to let her live the life she strived for. my mother's goal was to give all of us education and she did it. today i am able to support her and i hope to be able to give her everything she ever dreamed. I hope one day these kids will understand and support their mother. she is a strong mother. she is perfect and I hope she knows that. in sha Allah everything will be just fine, her kids will make her a happy and proud mother and understand what she did for them and how lucky they are to have such a mother. my heart is with you. May Allah help you and your family. ....وسعت 82

Teeba Sadounمنذ 8 سنوات Being Iraqi myself I understand what she's going through. My parents and I were refugees back in 1994 when I was born. I've grown up in America id="hidden26" class="buttons"> and without any family here I'm proud to say I'm almost done with my bachelor's in biology and art history. I believe many don't understand that, especially in Arab culture, family is the biggest thing. Having a big family means there's more people to rely on in tough times, and it just makes you feel safe and happy. Being that there are no Iraqi's living in Korea(There maybe some but not where she lived) it's hard for a single mother to raise her kids. My mom had to learn English and I was forced to learn big words at age 6 that I wouldn't use until high school. The only benefit was that my reading levels were higher than my class. I've visited Iraq twice and I know the situation she's explaining. But I believe looking at the end, she's strong and her family will be happy in Korea. I do hope that if she gains her visa to Australia she leaves with good memories in Korea. If she stays, I wish for her all the best and happiness and that her kids will grow up healthy and strong. Keep fighting auntie! ....وسعت 30

I am half way the episode and she seems to be tough on her kids because id="hidden29" class="buttons"> she wants the best for them! But sadly kids don't understand that :( she needs to relay on her eldest son but he is just being his age can't blame him. This must be really hard on her to raise all of them on her own!
