#basboussa #basbousarecipe #middleeasterndessert Arabic version of the video available here: /watch/gL8dxLnbZR_bd Have you tried the mouth-watering dessert before? It’s called Basbousa. It's a Middle Eastern dessert made with farina, which is finely milled wheat. But Depending on which country you try it from, it can be called different names like Namoura or Harisa! In my humble biased opinion, the Egyptian version is the best. Recipe syrup: In a pot, mix together 1.5 cups of sugar, 2 cups of water, and 1 packet of vanilla sugar. Leave it on medium heat to boil for 5 minutes, then leave it aside to cool down. Basbousa: -In a non stick pot melt 275 grams of sugar, then add 150 grams of ghee, and 300 grams of heavy cream then mix together until well combined. -Gradually add 680 grams of Farina (or cream of wheat) and mix well. -Grease a baking pan with ghee and pour the mixture in, pressing it down evenly. -Using a knife, cut the mixture into diamond shapes. -Bake in a preheated oven at 425 degrees for 14-18 minutes, or until golden brown. -Once the Basbousa is out of the oven, pour the cooled syrup over it generously, making sure it's fully soaked. Let it cool for a bit and then serve! Enjoy your delicious Basbousa!
