Due to Shakuntala Devi's unbelievable talent, she called as the "Human Computer". She was born on November 4, 1929, in Bangalore, Karnataka in a Kannada Brahmin family. His father joined a circus instead of becoming a priest in the temple. When Shakuntala was 3 years old, he discovered her ability to memorize the numbers while teaching her a card trick. Without receiving any formal education, Shakuntala at the age of 6, demonstrated her arithmetic abilities at the University of Mysore. In the 1960s, after returning to India, Shakuntala Devi married an IAS Officer Paritosh Banerji. The couple divorced in the year 1979. 1980 Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate from Mumbai South and from Medak. In Medak, she contested against Indira Gandhi and lost the elections. In 1977, at Southern Methodist University, she gave the 23rd root of a 201-digit number in 50 seconds. She solved the problem within 50 seconds, 10 seconds before the Univac computer could solve it. On 18 June 1980, she demonstrated the multiplication of two 13-digit numbers - 7,686,369,774,870 × 2,465,099,745,779 at Imperial College London. She correctly answered 18,947,668,177,995,426,462,773,730 in 28 seconds. This incident booked her place in the ‘Guinness Book of Records’ in 1982. In 1977, she wrote The world of Homosexuals, the first study of homosexuality in India. Shakuntala Devi had written many books on mathematics, astrology, puzzles, cookbooks, and novels., Some of them are On April 21, 2013, Shakuntala Devi died at the age of 83 years old. On November 4, 2013, Google Doodle honoured Shakuntala Devi on what would have been her 84th birthday. A biopic on her life is slated to release in 2020 in which the Bollywood actress, Vidya Balan will be portraying her character.
