We went to SeaWorld Orlando on Friday (7/2/2021). We went there around 4pm (as we stayed until fireworks). They do the 4th of July fireworks on July 2nd, 3rd and 4th! A storm put a bit of a damper on the ride plans at first. So we watched the seals and sea lions for awhile. And then we went over to watch the Dolphin Adventures show. That show has changed quite a bit since we last saw it (which was in 2019). Then it was time to find some food. We went over to the Lakeside Grill. I ordered the Crispy Fish Sandwich. It was fine, nothing special. Riley and his friend ordered a bacon cheeseburger. The line in the Lakeside Grill was pretty slow and it probably would have gone faster if the employees at the Lakeside Grill didn't ask if people wanted cheese and bacon on their bacon cheeseburgers. Just a thought. ;) I also ordered the chicken nugget kids meals for the 2 little guys (and they shared with Maeve). I tried bringing in a little bag of graham crackers for Maeve and the guy at security tossed them. They don't let you bring food and drink into the park, but usually they let me bring snacks in for the baby. Dylan wanted to hold out for one of his favorite sandwiches there, only to find that the sandwich stand was closed. Then we went over to Sesame Street, waited in line at the food trucks only for them to tell us that they had no food. So we went over to the Glacier Bar (by Sesame Street) because they had sliders on their menu. Dylan went in there and was told they weren't serving food anymore for the day. I ended up going over to the pretzel place (which was out of my first two choices...pepperoni pizza pretzel and jumbo pretzel dog), so I settled for a regular pretzel dog and pretzel nuggets and brought them over to Dylan (who was on rides with Finnegan in Sesame Street). SeaWorld needs help. For a theme park that doesn't let you bring any food in, they don't seem to want to sell you any food either. A bunch of the snack stands closed down after the storm (which lasted for about 15 minutes around 4pm and the park didn't close until 10pm). We were definitely glad that we weren't tourists and that we didn't pay for the daily dining plan there. That would have been a waste. Anyway, the kids had fun in Sesame Street. They love the rides there. I let Quinn and Finn play a "Plinko" type game there and they were both super excited that they won "medium" prizes! And they were delighted that the playground is open again. Then we went to pick out a spot for fireworks. The Electric Ocean show started and then stopped. And then started again. Not sure what the deal was there, but it did provide us with some laughs. The best part about the fireworks was the family next to us. They obviously weren't from here and going to SeaWorld was a big deal to them and they REALLY enjoyed the fireworks! The 4th of July fireworks were cool. It was a bit confusing to us that the finale was to the 1812 Overture (a Russian victory song which has nothing to do with America). But no one around us really seemed to notice. Shorter trips to SeaWorld work better for us when we don't have to rely on SeaWorld's food to feed all of us. We do love Sesame Street and the animals there though!
