If you enjoy the video, please like, comment and subscribe, I appreciate it, thank you Hey folks, driving in Cairo is interesting to watch. It is never boring on the streets of Cairo. For more information subtitles in different languages are available. If you have suggestions or feedback just leave a comment, thank you. Welcome to a new tour starting in Tahrir Square. Today we are travelling from the heart of Cairo to New Cairo. We drive part of the 6th October bridge and the Mosheer Axis, which leads to New Cairo. I also permanently displayed the permitted maximum speed. I've heard a lot of complaints about Speeding Tickets. In this way I hope to protect you from possible Speeding tickets. In future videos I will continue this on main roads. You have to watch out for walking people, taxis, toktok's and especially for (white) microbuses. Their behavior is unpredictable and it can lead to a disaster. Otherwise is driving in Cairo, Egypt a funny and enjoyable thing. Always wear your seat belt and keep to the speed limit. During this time, this square was built under his leadership. Known as "Ismailia Square" until 1919, it was unofficially named "Tahrir Square" (Liberation Square) for the first time after the protest against the British occupation. Only after the military coup of July 23, 1952 and the establishment of a republic on June 18, 1953, the square was officially renamed "Tahrir Square" from 1954. The square is served by Metro Line M1 and M2. The name of the station is called "Sadat." 6th October Bridge The 6th October Bridge (كوبري 6 اكتوبر) is 21.1 km or 13.1 mi in length (officially) and was built from 1969 to 2005. It is the longest bridge in Egypt and Africa. For better comparison the longest bridge on earth is the Danyang–Kunshan Grand Bridge located in China with a length of 164.8 km (102.4 mi). The bridge was originally named “Ramses Bridge”, after the Yom Kippur war (6th October 1973 – 25th October 1973) the bridge had been renamed. The bridge had been built in 9 construction phases. The bridge varies in height and width. The height of the bridge varies between 9 and 22 meters. The width is between 14 and 34 meters. At the highest point of the bridge there are 2 lanes on top of each other. This happens in the district "El Sharabeya" The bridge is used by more than half a million people every day. The journey from one end to the other takes up to 45 minutes. The bridge has 16 exits, but these are not arranged symmetrically. 7 exits are on the way from Cairo (Nasr City) to Giza (El Dokki), and there are 9 exits in the other direction. For example the exit to Shanan Street and the 26th July Axis (what guides you to Cairo – Alexandria Desert Road) is only in the direction of Giza, while an exit to Port Said Street is only in the other direction available. Design: Concrete Girder bridge New Cairo New Cairo (القاهرة الجديدة) is a planned city in the metropolitan area of Cairo in Egypt with a suburban character. The city has an area of about 343km² and is located on the south-eastern edge of al-Qahira Governorate, 25 kilometers (15mi) from Cairo district Maadi. New Cairo is one of the new cities which have been built in and around Cairo to alleviate the congestion in Down Town Cairo. It was established in the year 2000 by presidential decree number 191. Located in what was formerly Helwan Governorate, and located to the east of Maadi and Heliopolis, New Cairo ranges in elevation between 250 and 307 metres (820 and 1,007 ft) above sea level. The city is designed for a capacity of 5 million inhabitants. New Cairo has a population of just over 310,000 people and a related population density of just under 915 people. Annual population growth of 1.1% is just below Cairo's, which is 1.2%. The city is connected to other cities by a vast network of bus lines, and construction has begun for a monorail line. The Cairo monorail will connect the city with the Cairo suburb of Nasr City to the west, and the New Administrative Capital to the east. The city gets its drinking water from a water plant in Obour City, nearby.
