@hexregex88694 years ago The 1980s kid who wrote notes in your manual is a hero and deserves an award for their exceptional Erin Plays service. 7

@toddrossmanith51414 years ago This game is so iconic, even to this day. I remember being a 14 year old kid in the 80s mowing laws to make the money i needed to buy this game. To this day, i love open world games! 8

@miker.91384 years ago Never played it as a kid. When I finally played it as an adult, I needed to look up walkthrough to help me figure out what the hell I was supposed to do. 15

@bluesnoopz4 years ago now you are less than 1 HP Erin lol

@trippyskullz66694 years ago I enjoy how you play off using a walkthrough. NO HUMAN of these times should have been able to technologically conceive such an on-paper notion. 4

@3DJapan4 years ago "grumble, grumble" was his stomach! 4

@hungrygoriya4 years ago 😎 I will not hold the arrowing, burning, or stabbing against you! 💜 I also almost died on the flames at Zelda when I played the game a few years ago. I'm glad you finally got to play this! It sounds like you enjoyed it overall. ... 6

@fulltimemonti3 years ago I didnt own or play either of the two NES Zeldas as a kid, but watched others play (pre-internet, so irl). When I played as an “adult” in my twenties on my Game Cube, I still remembered so many of the secrets, like NWSW for the secret forest. This was enjoyable, and it was very well edited. I dont know how you dont have more subscribers. ... 2

@PositronPlays4 years ago "Ones who does not" has to be one of my favorite early bits of translation silliness. 3
  • @
@ShishiVids4 years ago You triggered a childhood memory of mine where I wandered around the lost woods until I got lucky D:
I didn't really have any problems with the lost woods, but I had trouble with the disappearing blocks in Megaman 😭 took me a while to notice the pattern. I was just a little kid and I thought the game was teasing me 😂 ...

@xenos_n.4 years ago Good editing for these videos. I never had Zelda when I was a kid, my mom bought me Mike Tyson's Punch-Out instead. This was fun to watch you play through. 7

@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism4 years ago These were my favorite videos from you. So cool! Playing these back in 1986 was pure magic. Can you imagine, all we had before at home was the poor graphics of the Atari 2600 and games like pac man, defender, ET, asteroids. When the Nintendo came out it was mind blowing! This game was so epic, I tell ya. I dunno if you've done Metroid already. Probably but in case you haven't played through Blaster Master, that's another good one! It didn't become as big as Zelda and Metroid because it didn't have a save system! We had to leave the Nintendo on all night and the next day and hope mom didn't turn it off on us by the time we got home from school! hahaha. It's a great game though for those of us who discovered it! It was my #1 NES game and my other favorites, just to help show my style was Metroid, The legend of zelda, SMB (1,2,3), punch out, Adventures of LOLO etc. ... 2

@gamerofthesith527510 months ago The Gel blob creatures make me think of the Gloop creature from the old Hannah Barbara cartoon Herculoids or the blob from a boy and his blob... maybe it's just me.
    Love your content Erin.

@ClassicTVMan1981Xlast year Blue Ring (250 Rupees) = reduces damage Link takes by 50%
Red Ring (Level 9) = reduces damage Link takes by 75%
Ganon is vulnerable only to the Master Sword and the Silver Arrows; only one Silver Arrow is required to defeat him for good when you turn him brown. ...

@megagrey4 years ago HOLY SHIT I've never seen that wind-up Link!
And hopefully Erin will figure out what to do with certain walls in the second quest.

@josephgvful4 years ago I remember having the watch and playing Zelda in class 😂🤓😉 1
  • @
@anthonywheeler20824 years ago This reminded me of one of my lunch boxes I had as a kid. It had Mario and Luigi playing The Legend of Zelda on the cover!
  • @
@leroyvisiongames22944 years ago The wizzrobes kinda remind me of the sorcerers in the Tower of Druaga, which is an old arcade game made by Namco in 1984. That game is said to be the grandfather of modern action-RPGs, inspiring games like Hydlide, Dragon Slayer, and—yep, you guessed it—the Legend of Zelda. ...
  • @
@Ironcabbit4 years ago Pro tip: in the rooms with mixed red and blue wizzrobes you can kill the red ones and leave and return and one or more of the blue ones will turn into red ones. 😉 2
  • @
@3DJapan4 years ago I like games that are open because you can explore. If you don't feel like fighting or doing the next mission you can just wander around.
  • @
@aspieatheist60404 years ago You get past that grumble guy by giving him monster bait, that piece of meat you could buy in the shop.
  • @
@onilink21124 years ago So glad that you acknowledge the Kermit the Frog looking mini-map on the top left corner I remember in the first episode one of the mini-maps was in the shape of a swastika
  • @
@shawn_5304 years ago What great timing. I just got home from the shop and now I can relax with Zelda part 2!! ❤️ 2
  • @
@ChrisMustard4 years ago I don't always automatically "like" vids but this gains a dead cert. THANK YOU!! Hope all is well 4
  • @
@sparrowthesissy21864 years ago Kick ass. You handled all the hectic rooms pretty damn well for your first time through the whole game. That one room in Dungeon 6 with all the wizrobes and pancakes is where this game stops playing around, but you dealt with it better than I did first time. Even Dungeon 9 didn't seem too tough for you to navigate. You should be proud of this run, for sure, even with some guide help. ...
  • @
@troystrain24364 years ago That was fantastic! Brought back a lot of memories, and kinda makes me want to play through this game again. 1
  • @
@videogamersoasisdotcom3 years ago - Thanks for the walkthrough... especially with Dungeon Level 6! I'm presently stuck on this Level, getting to GOHMA, but your example in beating this Level is VERY helpful! Thanks again! ...
  • @
@emmoan4 years ago Love the Erin comments. "Thats not a croissant, it's a bracelet!" 3
  • @
@MotherKojiro4 years ago Level 7 is called "The Unicorn". Never looked like a unicorn to me, but now that you've said it, all I can see is Kermit's head from some lost Muppets game for the Atari; been playing this since 1987, and you still taught me something new. ...
  • @
@commissarsturm4 years ago Congratulations Erin! Can't wait until the 2nd Quest. Keep on rockin'! That Link wind-up is badass!
  • @
@veasnayem5984 years ago Only played a handful of zelda, loved the FF series and a new sub.! It can be challenging at times. Godspeed. 1

@alternity284 years ago Cool your map was annotated. You have a unique piece of video gaming history! :) Great video. Thanks for the humor and for bringing back memories!
  • @
@raisethe34 years ago I never beat the game. So I am glad to see someone playing this. Maybe I could learn some tips!
    Congrats on defeating the game!

@randomgamer-st1ie4 years ago Level 6 dungeon is the only one besides level 9 that poses any challenge. 1
  • @
@jmad52234 years ago Way to go Erin! Very impressive for your first playthrough. I hope you play the 2nd quest too! It's almost like playing Zelda randomizer.
  • @
@abcizdaman3 years ago Watched the 1st video so might as well watch you beat it.. I'm hopin Lol. The little shield always reminded me of a bible. Yeah level 9 is not fun. Thought you had to walk through walls but maybe that's not till the 2nd quest.. yes there's a 2nd quest on this game.. much harder! ... 1
  • @
@johnwesley2563 months ago Took me beating the game 3 or 4 times before finding the red ring. Good Job!
I didn't like Zelda 2 much, but all the rest are great.
Can't believe you beat it with literally no potions left and 1 HP.

@sayedistrending3 years ago I have always wondered what happens if you need to bomb a door, but you run out of bombs 💣🎮😱 1

@thechemiist144 years ago I feel like Mike snuck your manual, and wrote the hints on the map.
  • @
@krisfrederick50014 years ago Mike put you up to this endeavor didn't he....I always thought it was the Power Croissant.
  • @
@PeacefulAutistic4 years ago You should do a video on Disney Atari, Intellivision, NES era Disney video games! Like 80’s and early 90’s! 1
  • @
@MajinErick4 years ago I thought those Level 6 enemies were pancakes. Awesome gameplay as always Erin! 🎮 2
  • @
@chaospoet4 years ago You may be on to something with the Kermit map. The level is super green and it's tough and as we all know from Kermit it isn't easy being green! This was interesting for me as I personally never got to level 7 because I couldn't find it so finally seeing the last 3 dungeons was a treat. ...
  • @
    @GrandMarkimus4 years ago That's no croissant. It's a bracelet! 1
  • @
@strangulator424 years ago It's like you got The Half-Blood Prince's potions book, but for Zelda!
  • @
@gwenwalravens80302 years ago I saw the first video two days ago. Decided to replay the game as well. Those blue Wizzrobes are the worst xD Don't mind the brown ones. After dungeon 6 the rest seemed easy. You need the large shield to deflect the wizzrobe's beams. ...
  • @
@storolof4 years ago you forgot to pick one item... I think the book is on level 8. the way you end the game was epic! no life in your hearts against Ganon! and then the flames that protect Zelda! I bet you had a mini heart attack right there!
  • @
@weswithers87154 years ago My favorite game of all time, I am a master of the swordless run, congrats Erin, ask Mike about helping you try a swordless run maybe? The key is using bombs
  • @
@josephgvful4 years ago That’s an awesome game to play it takes me back ☺️🎮
  • @
@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism4 years ago Nice job. Congratulations on beating Zelda!
  • @
@patrickbering19883 years ago Congrats on completing it and not quitting.
  • @
@RetroDeath4 years ago You made it so much harder on yourself by not getting the magic shield as early as possible, haha! It was great watching you discover this world for the first time though. Congrats on beating it! 1
  • @
@squiresphone4 years ago I feel like you're hustling us on this. You get extremely lucky in too many ways 2
  • @
@josedeluna22454 years ago The next game Erin should play is The Legend of Zeld, A Link To The Past on SNES. That’s another great classic from the SNES era. Star Fox is another one I remember playing a lot as a kid
  • @
@crypticrituals65303 years ago The movie Nothing but trouble has a bat room as you described. If you haven't watched it check it out. Great dark comedy.
  • @
@fydiousmckormick4 years ago Fantastic playthrough Erin. My favorite part was in level 9 when you did the three quick cuts to close ups of the enemies as you said, "enemies, enemies, enemies." It was a very nice editing touch. 1
  • @
@megadan29884 years ago gg erin, i remember beating this back in tye 2000’s lol. Good stuff
  • @
@b01tact10n2 years ago That's pretty dang good, I died 2wice in the beginning even if I had 5 hearts, but dang once I got the magic shield and blue ring I started surviving alot longer but level 6 is my Nemesis because I didn't have the magic shield but I still die every now and then, I get lost every now and then but I kinda figure things out. I am prepping for a 2nd quest attempt even if I keep dying in the beginning it's a tough game hands down I still die in dungeons 😂🤣 ... 1

@winterjason814 years ago I love it Erin and also many more thanks for sharing a second part with us today. Legend of Zelda is always and will be or stay the best old classical Nintendo video game forever. 2
  • @
@Rob_Thorsman4 years ago "Manhandla" sounds like a He-Man villain.
  • @
@DrewKane4 years ago Pro tip: leave on weak enemy alive on each screen of the map, and when you return to that portion of the map, only that enemy will be there.
  • @
    @n_r_23244 years ago 2SPOOKY 4
  • @
@stephenreeves3534 years ago Aaron if all fails go outside the level six and look for a magic shield 1
  • @
@MisterTutor20102 years ago The item missing is the Spell Book which upgrades the wand and makes the candles obsolete.
  • @
@kennethmccullah49054 years ago Great playthrough as always Erin. This is one of my favorite games of all time. I am currently playing through it again for probably the 20th time. I've always though dungeon 6 was the hardest. If you want an even bigger challenge, I challenge you to playthrough Legend of Zelda 2: The Adventures of Link. Wow, that is an insanely hard game. I've only beat it once. Its a great game but its just one of the hardest games of all time. Stay safe Erin. ✌ ... 1
  • @
@queenmonika-plays1194 years ago The level 7 map looks like Kermit saying "aaaaa" at the dentist's office.
  • @
@sesa10763 years ago Watching you waste Bombs makes me crazy! Lol
  • @
@chocolocojames2134 years ago It'd be cool if Nintendo put a 2D collection of all Zelda games next year. Also a 3D one too 😁😁😁
  • @
@victorcorrea35014 years ago Great play, btw u forgot to pick up the other 4 bombs on level 5
  • @
@TrainerCTZ4 years ago Great editing. I wonder what's in those doors where the old man says you need the triforce to enter? You must have to leave Zelda in that room to go find out then come back to get her?
  • @
@GenMathis743 years ago Erin is awesome. Some wold say..... the bomb 1
  • @
@jamierose90954 years ago You missed the book of magic, which makes the magic rod start a fire when it hits something. Although it's not like you needed it to win the game. 1
  • @
@scottbarnez4 years ago enjoyed eating my pizza while watching this. good job erin! 1
  • @
@stevieboyXI4 years ago I preferred Zelda II as a kid and struggled with this game more.
  • @
@spiffywonderboy4 years ago Now that you said Level 7 looks like Kermit with his mouth open I can't unsee it.
