An exciting new part of the procedural genertation this week focuses on adding underground tunnels to roguelike level generation in order to improve the random walk algorithm further. The "How to program procedural generation" playlist shows the steps I took to code a roguelike procedural generation from start to finish looking at different procedural generation algorithms explained and then following the game development of the one I chose - hint: random walk! I am currently going through some of the c# code I had already written for the random level generation algorithm, and at the same time record live programming and live game dev videos as I continue to improve the c# coding as I revisit it. This video in particular focuses on on improving the random level generation by connecting random walks to ensure there are not too many dead ends or backtracking for the player by adding underground tunnels to the level generation. I am using unity3d and c# programming for this channel which covers how to program a game in unity from start to finish, with the hope of covering everything for beginners as well as intermediate viewers.
