I was thankful. Jurors probably have the hardest and most thankless jobs in the country. There’s an ongoing investigation and right now, we just don’t know; But, watching & listening to Derek’s mother it’s not hard to see where the lack of empathy and compassion for fellow humans came from. My Son wasn’t perfect but he spent most days helping others, he traveled the world and his favorite shirt? It says “There is only ONE “race”, the HUMAN RACE; and we are ALL EQUAL. DEAL WITH IT!”.
Sorry, having a hard time & listening to that mother after everything that’s happened and she continues to not only proclaim Chauvin’s innocence, but whines about not being able to hug her Son, then NEVER mentions the Floyd family? How insulting and shameful! Yes lady, you WILL get to talk to, see and probably hug him. The Floyd family are the ones who can no longer talk to, hold or hug George! When this first occurred, I had a long talk with my child ( under age of 10). My child had so many questions, because it was being talked about by classmates. I am very open with subjects. She couldn’t comprehend why people hated other people because of the color of their skin, or why people were treated differently. Her response to our talk was “ God made us a rainbow of colors, just like he made a beautiful garden with different color flowers! The world wouldn’t be beautiful if everything was the same”. I pray our children’s minds are not smeared with hate, racism or judgement, because they can change the world if they’re raised right and raised to love. Granted 200 months is 16 years (22 and a half years total- though life is 25 years- which he should have got) but if it goes beyond 12 months then start using the word “years”.
