A Guide To: Smart Key Battery Saving Mode

Welcome back to another Guide to video with Taylor Toyota! Whether you're looking for ways to prevent theft of your Smart Key vehicles or you're a snowbird going away for the winter and leaving your vehicle at home, this is a great tip to save battery life while protecting the safety of your vehicle. The Smart Key Battery Saving Mode enables the Smart Key Fob to no longer receive nor transmit any signals, thus allowing the battery not to deplete as fast. This is great to use for; the second key fob (spare key) that rarely gets use and is stored away; when on extended vacation for both keys; and can be used as a safety precaution to help prevent theft of your smart key vehicle (turning your key off nightly). Instructions: Press unlock twice while pressing and holding the lock button. Confirming it’s in Battery Saving Mode by seeing the key indicator flash 4 times. While in this mode the smart key system cannot be used by the key fob. To cancel the function, press either the lock or unlock buttons. Thanks for watching!
