Annapurna Reservoir 10th Package of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, CM KCR renamed Anantagiri reservoir as Annapurna Reservoir. This beautiful reservoir is built in midst of hills in Ellanthakunta Mandal Of Rajanna Sircilla District, Telangana. This reservoir has Asia’s largest open to sky surge pool. The 92-metre-deep surge pool has a diameter of 56 meters and a storage capacity of 1 tmcft of water. The surge pool was constructed on the hillocks on the outskirts of Thippapur village. A 440 KVA sub-station was constructed in the vicinity of the pool to power the four motors. Water flows from Raja Rajeshwara reservoir (Mid Manair Dam) to Surge pool, after that the water is sent to Annapurna underground pump house, then the delivery cistern releases the water to Annapurna reservoir. The reservoir has been built with a storage capacity of 3.5 tmc capacity on the borders of Rajanna Sircilla and Siddipet districts, and is an important link in the complex KLIS network.
