Taking the uniqueness of Dr. K's methods into a suitable model or medium. Which is exactly the Choose Your Own Adventure model of Dr. K's Guide to Mental Health. Amazing stuff ....وسعت

@Yarcofinمنذ 4 سنوات Devin please keep on Dr K about the online course. For those of us who refuse to go to therapy, its our only way out. And from his reaction I still dont id="hidden5" class="buttons"> think he grasps how revolutionary it would be to mental health. He needs to scale it into self-help. I would drop $300 on that shit today without blinking. I've done Jordan Peterson's Future Authoring Program and it did more for me than hundreds of hours of videos. All I need is the equivalent writing prompts / introspection questions like that for depression and anxiety. ....وسعت 1

@extrathicc78منذ 4 سنوات What's frustrating about the conversation around @, (and would love to actually talk on one of these streams to either of them about it) is that the dissolution of self actually comes from the Buddhist/Hindu philosophy that everything is connected, and therefore your 'self' is all of your connections and not simply your avatar. Dissolution of the self is not simply accepting some internal bottomless pit and saying that essentially 'desires are bad'. Instead, it's about operating in the world with as much conscious awareness as possible that you are connected to everything. ....وسعت

@Kevfactorمنذ 4 سنوات at least for me, the thing with self help is i might learn about something and incorporate it for a week. Then i find it's really hard to keep it up id="hidden9" class="buttons"> from there. IDK if it's the fact you need like constant guidance, more research, or what to keep up the techniques. For example i remember trying out that 5 second rule to get myself to do class stuff that i dont wnat to do. worked for a bit. But over time i dropped it and went back to finishing everything at the last min lol. What's wierd though is trying to do stuff like that again is even harder to do, even after knowing all the research and information lol. BTW i actually disagree with the 5 second rule now that i've read research about how we are overstimulated and need ways to disengage to focus better. But that's not the point. It's just hard to really incorporate self-help ideas if it doesn't take root. from there, using metaphor, It's like the soil got contaminated along the way and hard to grow anything again in that area, lol ....وسعت

@leonardogonzalez4331منذ 4 سنوات our mathematical/numbering system did not solely come from Baghdad, it also came from India and other areas in the Middle East as well and it is called an Indo-Arabic mathematical system. The symbol 0 was invented in India in 600 A.D. and its widespread use was made popular by merchants by around 800 A.D. since it helped make big calculations easier on the merchant. It prevented them from having to keep track of numbers in roman numerals for example that had more than 10 letters for a number that could be expressed with much less digits using the concept of 0. Having said that, the symbol 0 (which is not a number, but a symbol) was created at a time considered as a spiritual dark age in India. You see, from ancient times numbers or better said, mathematics was regarded as a sacred science in every culture all over the ancient world. In its most basic sense the numbers from 1-10 denoted how everything was created and how 1 represented Oneness, Unity, and the Causeless Cause a.k.a God, the Buddha, the absolute universal energy, or as they call it in star wars, the Force. Whatever name you call it, the “Big Papi” was represented by 1 and from 1 came duality, yin&yang (2) and then the trinity (3) found in most ancient traditions, and so on with the rest of the numbers until getting to 10. Ten symbolized perfection or the culmination of the journey, creating a full circle (which was a symbol for God) as per the ancient secret schools of the pythagoreans. Having said all this, there was nothing greater than One or Unity and so everything else was a fraction of 1 or of the self since we are all One, all Unity. ALL the 7 wonders of the ancient world (the pyramids of gyza, the hanging gardens of Babylon, the Colossus of Rhodes, etc.) and beyond, were erected WITHOUT the use of zero. Yes, all of those wonders which are considered feats of engineering to this day, which may or may not be replicated with our present day technology, were made without the use of zero and therefore, without all of the other things that zero brings with it, like: decimals, imaginary numbers (e.g. negative numbers), etc. At the time that 0 was beginning to become well-known, all of the great mathematicians of the era were against it. They said that the philosophical implications of 0 would be disastrous. Why? because mathematics was not just counting and measuring, but it was also an universally sacred school of thought/philosophy and our logical understanding of things stems from mathematics (even to this day). Think about it, 0 was said to represent emptiness, but that was something that at the time in the secret traditions, was already represented by 1 as well as 1 also paradoxically meaning Unity and Everything and Nothingness, the Whole. Think about it, as the One Emptiness, which is everything or at the essence of everything, The Causeless Cause of All things, If you put 0 before 1 now the number 1 looses all of its meaning and power. It is no longer beyond duality as it was (beyond good and evil, hot and cold, male and female, etc.) because with 0 it became duality and no longer Unity, because now there was a 1 and a -1. Evil was just as powerful as Good and there were 2 Gods constantly battling for supremacy instead of 1. The sacredness and spirituality behind the ancient and sacred science of mathematics, which, used to explain not only the truths of the physical world, but those of the spiritual world became devoid of the power to do so. This is why all the great mathematicians of the time were against 0. It seems that they were right. Most of us feel that there is something missing learning math at school and with good reason. The soul of mathematics is missing when taught in this way. 0 brings only ease-of-use to mathematical operations, but this same thing could easily be replaced by any symbol of choice, like a bunny :) . in all seriousness it does not need to be placed in the number line or as part of the natural numbers set. It is the only numerical symbol that is illogical as when you add or subtract something by 0 the result does not change (e.g. 1+0=1) , but when we multiply it, it becomes 0 (1x0=0)? In multiplication or division, this only makes logical sense from one point of view only, which is, if you are multiplying 1 nothing many times and so you will obviously get nothing, but can you really quantify nothing? It sounds absurd: “How many nothings do you have?” “I think I have 5 nothings, which amount to nothing” “wtf.?” for example let us multiply nothing 5 times and you will undoubtedly get nothing. BUT if you grab 1 marker in your hand and multiply it by nothing does it disappear from your hand??? NO! it stays in your hand! so wtf zero? With addition and subtraction zero behaves logically, but with multiplication and division it does not. Lastly, in regards to emptiness, I would like to say that it is definitely misunderstood. Logically, emptiness or nothingness do not exist. Let me explain, we use the term emptiness the same way we use 0; as a symbol or a reference to describe a state in our perception, which it is better described as the lack of something. In reality though, nothing is empty, because the air inside a cup is something, the molecules, atoms, subatomic particles, and strings and the sea of energy that create the strings are: something. In this same way all people and all beings and things are always together, always interconnected. Therefore, emptiness and/or nothing does not really exist it is only our perception. Our reference to a lack of liquid or whatever in a cup is what we are looking to communicate, but no cup is ever truly empty nor half full, it is always full (now, what is it full of? well .). In the spiritual sense emptiness refers to 1 not zero. Why? because it talks about the One Causeless Cause of all things, that which was not made by the effect of anything, as It always has existed. It refers to that Supreme Force which cannot be named, explained, or understood, which cannot be spoken about because it is unfathomable, awesome, and ineffable. We call it God, or the Buddha, or the Supreme Being or again as in Star Wars, The Force. The thing is that since It cannot be conceptualized or understood by our limited minds it is referred to as emptiness or nothingness because we cannot see It for all that It is. As it is beyond our comprehension. Beautiful would be a day when humanity adapts another numbering/mathematical system that does not use the concept of 0 and mathematics becomes once again Sacred. ....وسعت 2
